For those who are not familiar with an omnium, let's break down the formula...

= An omnium is a sequence of races, run on consecutive days in which individual racers finishing time is accumulated and the sum of the riders’ time for each stage determines the final results to earn the overall winners awards.

  • All categories are eligible for Commonwealth Games (CG) medals and overall Omnium medals

  • To qualify for the Omnium competition, racers must pre-register and compete in both races, not register individually.

  • All racers can win their respective category Omnium medal regardless of home state.

  • Pro racers are not eligible for any medals, but are qualified for Omnium medals.

  • Racers who medaled in Beginner 2006 RMBO must upgrade to the Sport category for 2007.

  • Racers can compete with any two-wheeled, upright, self-propelled, safe-working, two hand brake bicycle must have the following:  

    • 20, 24, 26 or 29" tires
    • flat handlebar
    • canti-lever, linear pull or disc brakes
  • Same bike must be used on both days if competing in Omnium.
  • No littering
  • No urinating in public

    You will be disqualified if you are caught urinating in public and/or littering

    ZERO TOLERANCE!

  • Unsportsmanlike behavior will also result in disqualification: foul language to other participants, spectators, law enforcement, volunteers and race officials; also pushing, punching, biting, kicking and hair pulling

  • Park in designated areas only

  • No loose dogs and/or children

  • Please review the individual events for any specific details

YOU MUST PURCHASE A DAILY OR PRESENT YOUR YEARLY PASS BEFORE REGISTRATION

The daily pass is $1 for Roanoke City or County residents and $2 for all other visitors.

Yearly passes are $15 for Roanoke City or County residents and $30 for all others visitors.

Pre-ride and pre-purchase your pass.

Don't wait until the day of the event to purchase your daily or yearly pass.  You can pre-purchase a pass within a 10-day window from the event date.

We strongly encourage for you to pre-ride the course and purchase a pass for July 14-15th, or purchase a yearly pass.

Passes can be obtained at the Security Office or Just the Right Gear prior to the event.

helmets
Helmets are mandatory at all times - that means participating or preparing for the event.  All participants mounted on a bicycle shall wear a securely fastened helmet that meets either the US DOT helmet standards or one of the following standards: ANSI, Snell "B" or "N" series, ASTM, CSA, or CPSC
weather & trail conditions

Race runs rain or shine.

Race course maybe have alternative route to protect trails from erosion if ground is soggy.

Lightning will delay or postpone the event for obvious safety concerns.
